Working in pastry has made me very attentive to details of EVERYTHING! From desserts to even everyday life things. In school, they have a class for bakers called, "Individual Pastry Productions". That basically means, everything must be perfect, exact and consistent. A lot of people in my class and in the previous classes said that the class was "stressful" or that they "hated it". For me it was totally different. I loved that class because it showed me exactly of what I was capable of and how consistent I actually was. The class definitely helped me gain a lot of confidence in my self.
In my last post, I mentioned that I bake bread as well as desserts. In this post, I would like to show you a few of my most recent bread products. In the ;ast post I also mentioned that I applied to a few scholarships for school. Well last year I applied to a scholarship given by the CIA called, "M.F.K. Fisher Scholarship." M.F.K. Fisher was an American food writer. She wrote twenty-seven books in her 83 year lifetime. Her books are about food literature, travel and memoir. She believed that eating well was just one of the "arts" of life and explored this in her writing. The scholarship required an essay on an important food memory to you. So I wrote the paper, and then it hit me. "What will make me stand out from all the other people that apply for this scholarship?" At that moment I created a blog just for the scholarship. I won that scholarship! I have included the link to the blog below:
